CELEBRATE YORKSHIRE DAY WITH A ‘KEEP IT UP’ ROSE!

Huddersfield Town – The Yorkshire Club – is showing pride and passion in their county by producing 10,000 white roses for Yorkshire Day (1st August).

The white rose is the icon of Yorkshire’s identity and the Club has created the plastic roses so Yorkshire residents equally proud of their heritage can show their support of ‘God’s Own County’ while raising money for a worthy cause by attaching one to the grill of their car using two supplied cable ties.

The eye-catching white roses are available from a host of retailers from around the region (which are listed below) at a suggested donation of £2, with all proceeds raised going towards the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign.

‘Keep It Up’ is a pioneering and innovative partnership between Huddersfield Town (HTFC) and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA). The campaign is being driven by the Club who want to help the YAA establish a sustainable income stream by fundraising on their behalf. For every £1 that HTFC raise through the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign, 50p will be donated to the YAA and the other 50p will go to Huddersfield Town’s Academy which actively promotes the development of future football talent from the community.

Town’s Commercial Director Sean Jarvis today explained that he hopes that the roses prove popular:

“This is not a new concept – we are basing the idea on the red nose day concept for cars but in this instance raising money for another good cause.

“The Yorkshire roses are a great way to show your support for the Keep It Up campaign and go to show how proud you are to be from Yorkshire. I really hope everyone gets behind the campaign and that we can raise some money for this very worthwhile cause.

“I have lived in Yorkshire for many years and I understand the passion that natives have for their county. I will certainly be proudly displaying a Yorkshire rose on the front of my car and I expect many more to do the same.

“I would like to thank all of the businesses who are helping us to distribute the roses – their support really makes a difference.”
